General Requirements for Classes

* All puppies/dogs must be 10 weeks and older - up to date on their required vaccinations for their age. Puppies only require the number of vaccines according to age/vaccine schedule.

* Please bring your dogs vet/shot records with you first day of class.

*Classes are 6 weeks long unless otherwise specified in class description. Class is same day/time each week, and each class lasts roughly 50 minutes.

* All dogs are required to be on 6 foot nylon or leather leash, a regular collar, harness or combo are allowed. Martingale collars(anti slip) are allowed as long as they have a regular collar and/or harness and is not being used to correct the dog.

*Retractable leashes, chain leashes, pinch/prong collar, choke collar, electronic and/or shock collar ARE PROHIBITED!!! - no exceptions!!

* Please remember to have a variety of training treats (NOT KIBBLE), your dogs favorite toy, and a towel big enough for your dog to lay on with you to EVERY class.

* Each class will have 4-5 students max. If not enough students sign up for a class we may push back the class date to get the minimum number of students.

*Make ups classes are not given if you can't make the class. I do a review in the first 10-15 minutes of each class on what we covered in the previous class to insure we don't need to make adjustments to training technique. That is considered your make up for the material you missed. So please try to make each class!

*Please be on time! My time is valuable as well as each person's time who is in the class. Late arrivals are disruptive to everyone.

* No refunds after classes start--See refund policy page..

Classes are NOT TO FIX behavior problems...

Classes are to teach manners to PREVENT behavior problems.

AGGRESSIVE, SHY/FEARFUL, and/or OUT OF CONTROL DOGS will ONLY be seen in "In Home" sessions.

If your dog is already pulling you down to the ground or getting away from you, they DO NOT belong in classes! Please talk to Laurie about "In Home" sessions.

Dogs who are very shy and/or fearful should be seen in "In Home" sessions.

Over the top excited dogs -Including excessive barking should be seen in "In Home sessions.

These above behaviors indicate already occurring behavior problems. One on one sessions are needed to not create more problems/stress/emotional distress for the affected dog/owner, and to reduce the stress/emotional distress in the other dogs/owners in class.

We reserve the right to remove any dog from class for any reason.

Please keep in mind...

I am trying to reduce behavior problems in all dogs.

Improper stress exposure for any of the dogs can increase behavior problems that will lead to bigger/newer ones later on.

If you are not sure if your dog is fit for class, please call and ask questions, I will be happy to help you figure out what fits your needs best.

A walk in the park  6wk class $165

All ages- Puppies under 6 months should have had some previous training with an approved trainer before entering this class.

Improve your loose leash walking skills in a real world setting.

For dogs who have some basic commands already but need some extra help with loose leash walking, have never learned the proper loose leash walking skills, and to improve the owner's handling skills.

Owner must have safe control of dog on leash, Dog must be people/dog friendly from a 4-6 ft distance.

I will start teaching at the very beginning of loose leash walking skills. Teaching your dog to check in often, building consistency, gradually from low to high distractions, and teach you what that looks like in real life. Learn the difference of loose leash walking, heeling, and sniff walks.
